New Hampshire has it all as a fall vacation destination - glassy lakes, quiet towns, miles of hiking trails, local family farms and endless scenery. When we began planning a family vacation last May to see the Autumn leaves change in New England, we had no idea the incredible journey that we would be in for.
We set our home base on Lake Eastman, a small community lake surrounded by private homes just an hour drive from Manchester-Boston Airport. This was a perfect location for exploring the sights of New England because it was central to all of the places we wanted to visit - not more than a 2 hour drive to Vermont, Boston, Maine, and Rhode Island. This was ideal because we could easily take day trips to anywhere in New England without having to lug all of our things around and jump from hotel to hotel. But we didn't need to leave the state to find fun, unique and interesting spots to explore. Here's a rundown of my favorite experiences.
